A Commitment to Surgery
Dennis Bang first took an interest in surgery at the age of three. While running atop the slippery steps outside of his home in Korea, he slipped and fell on his face, causing him to bleed from his eyebrow. His grandfather, who ran a clinic at the bottom floor of the building they lived in, quickly got to work treating his wounds. This moment went on to become one of Dennis’s earliest memories, and led him to pursue a degree at the University of Southern California, which would then become the basis for his long storied career.
